Here we go again. Another most favorite recipe of mine. Here is why.

  • All of these will go with vaghereli chaas as a healthy liquid portion  for the meal.   Now imagine: ten minutes to cook plain rice. simultaneously cook the spinach on another stove. and five minutes to make the vaghareli chaas. I even make my vaghareli chaas and store it in a tall glass bottle in the refrigerator. That saves five more minutes on a week night supper. Your dinner is ready from scratch in under fifteen minutes.  Great with home made yogurt to replace with the chaas if you wish, Home made yogurt watch the video that we have made in our earlier sessions.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of fresh clean baby spinach
  • 1 teaspoon oil for sautee
  • 1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • pinch of hing or asafoetida
  • 2 to 3 cloves or garlic chopped or crushed

Method:

Heat the oil. Add the mustard seeds and garlic and hing. Now add the spinach and stir quickly well. Add salt (very little) and red/green chili powder/paste as per your taste. stir and cover for may be three minutes on medium to low heat. Check for done and add some drops of lemon juice.
